In September 2011, O3g grew to 45 members. We were very pleased with the response to our recruitment ads. However, many of the people who joined our guild made it abundantly clear that they had real-life friends on other servers, and were not interested in playing on Vabbi, nor were they interested in representing O3g, since they were interested in guild chat with their real-life friends. Unfortunately, it seems that this attitude was held by the majority of our members—about 30 people.
Obviously, this was a bit of a disappointment for us, and also for our active players who had joined O3g for the purpose of participating in and building a LGBT in-game community on Vabbi. We discussed the situation, and decided that it would be unfair to kick so many people from the guild, since the majority of guild members felt that a social atmosphere wasn’t a selling point for them. After all, we had founded the guild so that anyone could feel included and could play however/wherever they wanted. Instead, we decided to create a new guild with slightly different recruitment practices, and migrate our core group of active/social players there. Thus, O3g is no longer actively recruiting members.
All active members have migrated to our new guild…
